Author duo Pushparaj Joshi and Leelaraj Karki represent Nepal at Frankfurt Book Fair

FRNAKFURT:- Nepali authors Pushparaj Joshi and Leelaraj Karki represented Nepal at the Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany, one of the world’s largest book fairs.

Approximately 236,000 visitors from around the globe attended this annual international literary festival, held from October 7 to 11. The fair featured 4,000 exhibitors from 137 countries and hosted more than 3,800 events.

At an event held on the final day of the book fair, both authors read excerpts from their respective books, ‘The Clue Catchers’ and ‘Kshitij Pariko Basti’. The event was organized by the Foreigners’ Advisory Council of the City of Frankfurt. The participation of the Nepali authors was coordinated by ‘Nepali Samaj,’ a social organization based in Frankfurt.

Published by Kathmandu-based Beyond Stories, Joshi’s children’s book ‘The Clue Catchers’ presents four exciting stories in which a young girl and her father team up to solve various mysteries. Centered on curiosity, keen observation, collaboration, and problem-solving, the book follows them as they search for clues, unravel complex puzzles, and uncover hidden secrets. It has been adopted as a reference book in some schools across Nepal.

Karki’s ‘Kshitij Pariko Basti’ is a poetry collection based on contemporary themes. Through poetry, the book expresses a wide range of subjects and emotions.

The participation of both authors has not only introduced Nepali literature to international readers but also provided an opportunity to showcase Nepal’s literary diversity and creative contributions on one of the world’s leading publishing and literary platforms.
