Two die in jeep accident, injured ones rescued by helicopter

RUKUM:- Two passengers died, while nine others were injured in a jeep accident occurred at Deutakhola of Sanibheri Rural Municipality of Rukum West.   

The deceased have been identified as a jeep driver Sundar Khadka Magar from Rugha of Tribeni Rural Municipality-1, and Prem Kala Pun of around 16 year from Sanibheri-6, according to the District Police Office, Rukum West.

Among the injured ones, two were airlifted to Provincial Hospital, Surkhet by a Nepali Army (NA) helicopter, said DPO Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bed Bahadur Paudel. Until the filing of this report, preparations were underway to rescue two others by the NA helicopter.

Others receiving injuries are being treated at a local Municipality Hospital, Simli. The preliminary report disclosed that a total of 13 people including the driver were on board the vehicle when it met the accident. All those travelling in the jeep are yet to be identified.

The vehicle (Lu 1 Cha 6029) en route to Simli from Kotgaun of Sanibheri-6 fell some 50 metres off the road, according to the police.(RSS)
