Heavy rains likely in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces
KATHMANDU:- The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds. The monsoon low-pressure trough is currently situated south of its normal position. As a result, the weather across the country is generally cloudy, and light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning is occurring in a few places across all provinces.
Generally cloudy conditions will prevail across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in some places within the mountainous and hilly regions. Similarly, light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning is likely in some areas of the Terai in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in a few areas of the Terai in Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places across the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as the hilly regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Tonight, the weather across the country will be generally cloudy. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in some places within the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in a few places within the mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning is also likely in some places across the hilly and Terai regions of the country.
The department has stated that there is also a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in the Terai region of Koshi Province.
