Bhote Koshi Flood Update: Bodies of 1,252 people recovered
KATHMANDU:- According to the Nepal Police, the bodies of 1,252 people have been recovered so far following the devastating floods in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa.
The breakdown of the 1,252 recovered bodies is as follows: 127 in Rasuwa, 177 in Nuwakot, 60 in Dhading, 355 in Chitwan, 69 in Gorkha, 38 in Tanahun, 218 in Nawalparasi East, 190 in Nawalparasi West, and 18 found in India (which were handed over to Nawalparasi West).
Among the injured, two individuals—one at Teaching Hospital and another at the National Trauma Center—passed away today while undergoing treatment.
Similarly, following the completion of necessary procedures—including DNA sample collection for identification—a total of 897 bodies (comprising 201 women, 327 men, and 369 unidentified individuals) have been managed by being safely interred.
Additionally, details of 1,052 unidentified bodies have been uploaded to the Nepal Police website.
Similarly, the Nepal Police reports that search operations are currently underway for 4,798 missing persons.
