Rs 135 million released for 15 flood-affected local levels
KATHMANDU:- Nepal Government has released NPR 135 million for 15 local levels across five districts affected by the floods in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa. This amount was released to the municipalities in two phases.
Immediately after the floods, a decision was made to provide 10 million rupees each to Rasuwa and Nuwakot, and 5 million rupees to Dhading. Subsequently, a total of 135 million rupees was disbursed through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority in two tranches: 65 million rupees on August 28 and another 65 million rupees on September 1.
Funds amounting to Rs 15 million for Uttargaya Rural Municipality, Rs 20 million for Gosaikunda Rural Municipality, Rs 6 million for Kalika Rural Municipality, and Rs 4 million for Aamachhodingmo Rural Municipality in Rasuwa have already been released.
Similarly, funds have been released as follows: Rs 30 million for Bidur Municipality, Rs 17.5 million for Belkotgadhi Municipality, Rs 5 million for Kispang Rural Municipality, and Rs 10 million for Tarkeshwor Rural Municipality in Nuwakot.
Funds amounting to Rs 6 million for Galchhi Rural Municipality, Rs 4 million for Siddhalek Rural Municipality, Rs 4 million for Gajuri Rural Municipality, and Rs 4 million for Benighat Rural Municipality in Dhading have been released. Additionally, Rs 4 million for Gandaki Rural Municipality in Gorkha, as well as Rs 4 million for Devghat Rural Municipality and Rs 4 million for Aabukhaireni Rural Municipality in Tanahun, have already been released.
Similarly, a total of NPR 7,088,57,217 has been deposited into the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Rescue Fund and the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to date. Of this amount, NPR 10 million was provided to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority on Bhadra 16.
Currently, the fund holds a balance of NPR 6,088,57,217. Additionally, an extra USD 6,141,702 has been deposited into the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
