Chandragiri wins New Gokarneshwor district-wide Taekwondo competition title

KATHMANDU:- Chandragiri Taekwondo Dojang has won the title at the 1st New Gokarneshwor District-wide Taekwondo Tournament. Chandragiri secured 5 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze medals.

Lion Martial Arts Taekwondo Dojang finished second with 4 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze medals in the tournament, which was organized by New Gokarneshwor Taekwondo Dojang and held at the Gokarneshwor Sports City Hall. Dhalku Taekwondo Dojang took third place, securing 4 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals.

Rohan Bhujel of Lainchaur Taekwondo Dojang and Hridayani Basnet of Gokarneshwor were declared the best players in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively, and were awarded a cash prize of Rs 5,000 each. Rohan won gold in the under-55 kg weight category, while Hridayani won gold in the under-33 kg category.

The winners were awarded prizes during a ceremony by the event’s chief guest, Sanjay Lama (President of the Gokarneshwor Youth and Sports Committee), along with Kumar Lama Ghising (former National Sports Council member and Nepal Taekwondo Association member), Bikram Khadgi (President of the Kathmandu District Taekwondo Association), and others.

The organizers stated that 548 athletes from 28 teams—comprising both *dojangs* and schools—competed in various events during the tournament.
