Himalayan Momo’s ‘Jhol Momo’ brand fast food chain to operate in the UK
LONDON:- Youth Entrepreneur Bikas Nepal has launched a fast-food chain under the brand ‘Jhol Momo’—part of ‘The Himalayan Momo’—in the UK. Officially inaugurated in Camden, London, the business is slated for expansion through a franchise model.
Bipin Duwadi, Nepal’s Chargé d’Affaires to the UK, inaugurated the ‘Jhol Momo’ outlet at Boxpark in Camden Town on Saturday. He commended the efforts made to introduce popular Nepali cuisine, such as momos, to the UK. Praising the entrepreneurial spirit of the Nepali community in the UK, he also extended his best wishes for the business’s success in maintaining high food quality and providing excellent customer service.

Bikash Nepal, Executive Director of Nepal Food, stated that this brand was launched with the aim of providing fast and simple service, distinct from the traditional restaurant style. He mentioned that the outlet currently offers momos, masala chai, and kulfi.
The momos, chai, and kulfi featured in this concept have won the prestigious UK-based ‘Great Taste Award’—often referred to as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world.
According to Entrepreneur Nepal, a new outlet can be started with a capital of just £5,000 to £10,000, and it yields quick returns.
He also noted that the system is designed to be easily managed by a single person and that the company handles the entire setup within a month.
Nepal stated that, following the Camden outlet, there are plans to open outlets in Hayes next month and subsequently in Tooting under the franchise model; the goal is to open 10 outlets in the UK by 2026 and then expand into India.
Bhupendra Bisht, a young entrepreneur and Managing Director of the Jhol Momo outlet in Camden Town, stated that the company has adopted a strategy of offering “free sampling” of Jhol Momo to attract local British customers. He also mentioned plans to spread the taste of Nepali cuisine globally, starting from Central London.
