Nepali film ‘Pension Patta’, based on the Lahure culture released on September 11
Director Gurung stated that the film attempts to present the reality of Nepali society in a manner that is both entertaining and thought-provoking; he expressed confidence that the audience would appreciate the movie due to its subject matter, presentation, and the actors' performances.
LAMJUNG:- The production team of the Nepali film ‘Pension Patta’—scheduled for release on Bhadra 26, (September 11)—has embarked on a district tour to promote the movie. During their visit to Lamjung for promotional activities, the team met with journalists and highlighted how the film artistically portrays family relationships, struggles, and the rural setting.
Writer-director Maotse Gurung stated that the film ‘Pension Patta’ captures the lives, families, romance, sacrifices, and social realities associated with the long-standing ‘Lahure’ (pensioner soldier) culture in Nepali society. He informed that preparations are underway to release the film simultaneously in approximately 70 cinema halls across the country starting from Bhadra 26, (September 11).

Lead actress Monika Gurung expressed her delight at having the opportunity to act alongside actor Dayahang Rai in the film ‘Pension Patta’.
Produced by DB Gurung under the banner of Maotse Gurung Films, the movie features investments from Min Konme Gurung (UK), Bhoj Bahadur Gurung (UK), and Sapana Gurung.
The film stars Dayahang Rai, Gaumaya Gurung, Monika Gurung, Buddhi Tamang, Wilson Bikram Rai, Pashupati Rai, Pushkar Gurung, Sunil Thapa, Sol Gurung, Manoj Gurung, Anusha Rai, Lunibha Tuladhar, Bishwas Gurung, Raj Thapa Kauncha, and Suraj Tamu, among others.
The film features a story and direction by Maotse Gurung, cinematography by Sushan Prajapati, and editing by Ker D. Koich Linuch; the music is composed by Manoj Thapa Magar, Shiva Baraili, and Suraj Tamu. RR Films has undertaken the responsibility for the film’s distribution in Nepal. The film is also set to be released in Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
The film will be released nationwide on Bhadra 26 (September 11), coinciding with the occasion of Haritalika Teej.
