Manaslu and CCRC advance to finals of inter-college basketball tournament
KATHMANDU:- CCRC and Manaslu SRC have advanced to the final of the inter-college boys’ basketball tournament on Saturday.
In the first semi-final held at the covered hall in Kirtipur, CCRC defeated KVC 97–72. Bisan Khadka scored 31 points for CCRC. The first quarter ended in a 22–22 tie. Although CCRC took a 33–14 lead in the second quarter, they trailed by a narrow margin of 22–23 in the third. By winning the fourth quarter 20–13, CCRC widened the margin of victory.
In the other semifinal, Manaslu defeated Pushpasadan 75–68. Manaslu’s Diwas Magar scored 16 points. By the end of the third quarter, Manaslu was trailing by six points overall; they had fallen behind 17–19 in the first quarter and 8–20 in the second. However, Manaslu staged a comeback, securing the victory by outscoring their opponents 21–13 in the third quarter and 29–16 in the fourth.
Both teams reached the final undefeated. CCRC advanced to the semifinals as the winner of Group A (comprising five teams), while Manaslu advanced as the winner of Group B (comprising four teams).
In the competition organized by Pulchokians Fitness Hub and primarily sponsored by AECC Global Consultants, the top three finishers will receive cash prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000, and Rs 15,000, respectively. The final will take place on Tuesday.
