Children dies after landslide with rocks falls in Mugu
MUGU:- A three-year-old children died and two others were injured when a landslide, accompanied by rocks, fell onto a house in Pulu Bazaar, Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality-5, Mugu.
At around 4:00 AM on Saturday, a landslide—bringing rocks with it—struck the house of Pema Lama in Pulu Bazaar, Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality-5, while the occupants were asleep. The residents—32-year-old Jagnath Baduwal (originally from Tirpa, Chhayanath Rara Municipality-13), his 27-year-old wife Srijana Baduwal, and their three-year-old son Ramesh Baduwal—had been running a rented hotel in the building.
A police team deployed from the Dolphu Pulu police post rescued Ramesh Baduwal, who had been buried in a landslide, and transported him to the Pulu Health Post for treatment. Police stated that the boy, who was brought to the health post at 4:48 AM, was declared dead by the doctor at 5:45 AM.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabiraj Thapaliya of the District Police Office, Mugu, Jagnath and Srijana sustained minor injuries in the landslide. They are undergoing treatment at the Pulu Health Post, and their condition is reported to be stable.
The landslide completely destroyed the house. Due to the risk of further damage, residents of eight nearby houses have been relocated to a safe area.
