Mullin orders deportation of non-citizens who vote in US elections

WASHINGTON:- Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin has sent letters to the Secretaries of State of four states, warning about thousands of non-citizens illegally included in their voter rolls and directing the removal of more than 250,000 potential non-citizens from the lists.
Secretary Mullin sent letters to California Secretary of State Shirley Weber, New Jersey Secretary of State Tahesha Way, Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar, and Pennsylvania Secretary of State Al Schmidt.
In the warning letter, Mullin stated, “Election security is national security. As President Trump announced last night, DHS has identified more than 250,000 potential non-citizens who are illegally registered to vote in just four U.S. states. American leaders should be chosen only by Americans.”
Based on a preliminary review of records from those four states, the DHS—in a letter warning of non-citizen registrations—reported 190,832 non-citizens registered to vote in California, 35,152 in New Jersey, 15,903 in Nevada, and 14,576 in Pennsylvania.
Secretary Mullin has urged Secretaries of State to respond within two weeks and to ensure free, fair, and honest elections in their respective states.
Secretary Mullin has directed ICE to enforce severe penalties—including deportation—against foreign nationals who vote illegally in U.S. elections.
