National Assembly passes ‘Public Procurement (2nd Amendment) Bill, 2083

KATHMANDU:- The National Assembly meeting unanimously passed the ‘Public Procurement (2nd Amendment) Bill, 2083’ today.

On behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam, presented a proposal in the NA meeting, seeking passage of the Bill.

The Bill was brought to substitute the ordinance. It was received along with a message from the Lower House.

The NA endorsed the amendment made by the Legislative Management Committee. With this, the Bill is being sent to the HoR.

In response to the queries raised by the NA members, Minister Gautam made it clear that the Bill was introduced to make the public procurement more transparent, result-oriented and well-managed. NA lawmaker Renu Chand took part in the discussion on the Bill.
