Mechi Highway blocked at Mai Khola
ILAM:- Vehicular movement on Raj Duwali road section at Mai Khola of Ilam district along the Mechi highway has got disrupted due to landslides and fissures in the road in different places due to incessant rainfall.
Ilam residents have become worried with the closure of the road.
Simalgola-Tilkeli road which has been used as an alternative route has also become muddy and slippery, which has made the road risky for drive, said Grism Subba, chairperson of the Purbeli jeep and taxi transportation Pvt. Ltd.
Vehicular movement has also been affected along Kechana-Kanchanjungha fast track that links Ilam and Jhapa districts as flood has been overflowing the diversion made across the Puwa Khola.
Problem has persisted as the belly bridge supposed to be stalled over Puwa Khola and Jogmai Khola has not arrived, according to Road Division Office, Ilam.
Locals of Ilam have highlighted construction of alternative route of Raj Duwali road section as the section gets blocked time and against.
