Couple missing after landslide buries house in Parbat

PARBAT:- An elderly couple has gone missing after a landslide buried their house in Langdi, Deurali of Modi Rural Municipality-3 this morning. 

Chhabilal Bishwakarma, 76, and his wife Bishnumati, 76, went missing after their one-storey house was buried in the incident that took place last night. The couple’s daughter-in-law, Pabitra, 32, managed to escape the landslide by jumping out of the house, shared Santosh BK, ward member of Modi Rural Municipality-3.

According to BK, the locals are continuing the rescue work as a team of police is on the way to the incident spot, said Police Inspector Ram Prasad Sapkota of the District Police Office.

Parbat and surrounding areas have been experiencing heavy rainfall since last night, while the water level and current in the rivers and streams have also scaled up. (RSS)
