Indian-origin Nirav Shah to run for US Senate from Maine
LOS ANGELES:- Nirav D. Shah, who is of Indian origin, is set to run for the US Senate. The former director of the Maine CDC is preparing to contest the election following sexual misconduct allegations against Democratic candidate Graham Plattner.
Shah, an Indian-American physician, had previously run for governor last June but was unsuccessful. He stated that he has received hundreds of encouraging messages urging him to enter the electoral race.
This development unfolded after the Maine Democratic Party, Senate Democratic leaders, and numerous other influential Democrats urged Plattner to end his campaign—following allegations made by a former girlfriend—prompting Shah to prepare to run for the U.S. Senate.
However, Platner has denied the allegations and stated that he is considering his political future; consequently, one must wait a few days to see whether Shah’s plan to run in the Senate election will be realized or remain unfulfilled.
