Six injured in Hetauda road mishap

MAKWANPUR:- Six people have sustained injuries when a passenger van met with an accident near the Ratomate checkpoint in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-15 along the Mahendra Highway on Tuesday. 

According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at District Police Office, Makwanpur, Madhav Prasad Kafle, the van (Bagmati (Ba) Pra 06-001 Ja 0469) was travelling from Birgunj to Kathmandu when it skidded and overturned on the left side of the road after a wild animal crossed its path.

Police said eight people, including the driver, were on board the vehicle. Six passengers sustained injuries and were taken to the Hetauda Hospital for treatment.

The driver, 56year-old Dilip Silwal of Budhanilkantha Municipality-10 in Kathmandu, has been taken into police custody.

Although the vehicle was damaged in the accident, police said traffic on the highway was not disrupted.
