Bajura bus accident, 23 passengers injured

BAJURA:- Twenty-three passengers were injured when a passenger bus coming from Mahendranagar to Bajura met with an accident near Rithabazaar in Budhiganga Municipality-10, Bajura this morning.

Local Tapesh Rawal informed that the bus (No. Sudurpaschim Province 01-001 Kha 1355) of Pawandoot Yatayat met with an accident after hitting a wall on the side of the road.

According to the police, it is initially believed that the accident occurred when the driver lost control after the bus’s brakes failed. However, the actual cause of the accident is yet to be officially confirmed.

After the accident, the injured were rescued with the help of locals, police and concerned agencies. The injured were sent to the nearest health institutions, District Hospital Bajura and Bayalpata Hospital in Achham for treatment, according to Shaileshwari Bohara, Chief of the District Police Office Bajura.

Police said they are continuing to collect more details about the accident and the condition of the injured. The names of the injured passengers and their health conditions are yet to be released.

The incident has raised questions about the technical condition and regular maintenance of public transport vehicles operating in the hilly areas. Police said further investigation into the accident is underway.
