183 leaders, including Dhawal Shumsher announce collective resignation from RPP

KATHMANDU:-  Outgoing General Secretary Dr. Dhawal Shumsher Jabra, who has left the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has said that the past four years of his political life have been very painful.

Addressing a gathering of his party leaders and cadres in Kathmandu on Thursday, Dr. Rana made the remarks. He alleged that the party leadership itself was standing in the way even though he had made every effort to take the party in the right direction and on the path of achieving the agenda. Rana claimed that party chairman Rajendra Lingden forced him to leave the party.

He said that they had come to the conclusion that they had to start a new political journey because they could not carry forward the ideas, values, and agenda they carried within the party. Dr. Rana compared the current state of the RPP to a ‘cracked and crumbling house’ and stated that they had concluded that the expected change was not possible with the old structure.

Rana said, “Five years ago, we supported Rajendra Lingden and made him the chairman. But sadly, today we have to leave our home. That is not a day of happiness, but a day of sadness. But in our political journey, when we realize that the values and beliefs we carry do not transcend the house we live in, we must be courageous and build another house.”

He said, “Whether it is a broken or cracked car or a house, we must make an effort to build another one with courage. We are engaged in that effort today. These four years have been the saddest of my political life. I had tried to take the RPP on the right path and achieve its agenda, I had led the movement, I had tried to reform the party and make it the first party in the country, but all those efforts were not allowed to move forward.”

Meanwhile, 183 leaders led by leader Dr. Rana have announced their collective resignation from the RPP. The Rana faction leaders made the announcement at a gathering in Kathmandu on Thursday.
