“Love for the motherland is known only to those living abroad”

SYDNEY:- The ‘Hamro Club’ based in Sydney, Australia has expressed its commitment to always be active in favor of the rights and interests of Nepalis living in Australia.

Speakers at a special program organized by the club here expressed their commitment to be dedicated to the Nepali community in Australia, their homeland Nepal, and the Nepali people.

Stating that despite being in the province, they still have Nopalines in them and feel proud to be known as Nepali, they emphasized the need to establish the ‘club’ as a common forum with the hope and trust to share the joys and sorrows of the Nepali community in Australia.

On the occasion, the facilitator of the program, Dinesh Sapkota, said that the love for the motherland is known when one lives abroad and clarified that the ‘club’ is for the upliftment of the Nepali community by maintaining mutual support and goodwill.

Club President Rajiv Adhikari informed that they are working for the rights and interests of the Nepali community here by winning the trust of the Australian government and incorporating the support and goodwill received from the elders.

The event, organized to mark the club’s fifth anniversary, was attended by more than 200 members of the Nepali community, including MP Nathan Hagarty, Councillor Eliza Rahman, former Councillor Usha Dommaraju, and the club’s founding president Amulya Pratap Singh. The club’s new website was formally launched at the event.

Similarly, various sports competitions, entertainment programs including songs and music, and talent recognition programs were also presented on the occasion.
