Two dead, 12 injured in Lamjung jeep accident

LAMJUNG:- Two persons were killed and 12 others were injured in a road mishap that occurred at Bensisahar in Lamjung district this evening. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police and Chief of Lamjung District Police, Dipendra Kumar Basnet, said the jeep (Ga 1 Ja 6470) on its way to Usta village in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-7 from the district headquarters Bensisahar fell some 50 meters off the road in Usta area of Bensisahar.

The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old Triveni Gurung (Gangamaya) and Pushpa Ghale, 35, of Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-7. The two died in Provincial Hospital, Bensisahar. The jeep driver was among the 12 injured ones.

According to police, injured Safal Gurung and Rita Gurung were rushed to Chitwan Medical College for further treatment.
