Physical infrastructures encroaching Fewa Lake bulldozed

KATHMANDU:- The Pokhara Metropolitan City has demolished the physical infrastructures built by encroaching upon the areas of the Fewa Lake in Pokhara.

The Pokhara Metropolitan City, with support from the Nepal Police personnel, bulldozed 32 huts and properties constructed by encroaching upon the land of Fewa Lake along the Sedi to Khapaudi, Chief of Metropolitan Police Purushottam Thapa said.

Thapa shared that the illegally-built huts and properties were demolished to implement the Supreme Court verdict.

Before this, the metropolitan city had fixed pillars within 65 metres of the lake area.

Earlier in the 100-point priorities, the Federal Government had announced to begin the demolition of the properties built by encroaching upon the land of the lake within three months.
