NC Gagan fraction assigns representatives in seven provinces for election review

KATHMANDU:- The Nepali Congress has assigned leaders as the representatives to review the March 5 House of Representatives (HoR) election and discuss future course of action of the party.

General Secretary Pradip Paudel issued a statement on Tuesday sharing that the recent central working committee of the party had assigned representatives for election review and discussion on future course.

The party shall make a thorough review of elections, party and candidates’ experiences and the way ahead, reaching all 165 constituencies. Field study and analyses would be held in each district in the presence of central representative.

Under the coordination of assigned leaders, the leaders in the subordinate bodies will work to accomplish the task. The district committee of the party is asked to manage the programmes for discussion and study, according to General Secretary Paudel.

As per review schedule, Dr Dila Sangraula will be coordinating the event in Biratnagar city of Koshi Province on April 6, while Pharmullah Mansoor will coordinate the event in Janakpur city of Madhes Province on April 8.

Bahadur Singh Lama will be conduct the programme in Hetauda city of Bagmati Province on April 20, Devraj Chalise in Pokhara city of Gandaki Province on April 10, and Yogendra Chaudhari in Dang of Lumbini Province on April 12.

Karna Bahadur Budha is assigned to conduct review programme in Surkhet of Karnali Province on April 16, and Prakash Rasaili Snehi in Kailali of Sudurpaschim Province.

With in-depth review of election and debate on future course, the party organization is expected to be reinforced and expanded. NC has planned to prepare future strategy accordingly, General Secretary shared.

Following the debacle in the March 5 HoR election, NC, which had got recent leadership under Gagan Thapa, is mulling how its policy and strategies could be revisited to suit the changed context.
