Kirat Yakthung Chumlung Japan’s 7th General Convention concludes, electing new leadership

TOKYO:- The seventh general convention of Kirat Yakthung Chumlung Japan has concluded. With the main slogan ‘Limbuwan Autonomy, Our Commitment’, the convention elected the president, senior vice president and members through an election process and other office bearers unopposed.

While Tigela was elected as the president with 85 votes, Mina Tumbahamphe (Rekha) received only 5 votes. Similarly, Lakhdhwaj Mademba (Sisam) won the post of senior vice-president with 81 votes, while Keshika Limbu received 9 votes.

Bishnu Kumar Angdembe and Kalpana Chemjong have been elected unopposed as the open vice-chairman of the working committee and the women’s vice-chairman, respectively.

Durga Prasad Nembang has been elected as the general secretary, who will handle the administrative responsibilities of the organization, while Sujan Angbo has been elected as the deputy general secretary. Loken Neyohang ‘Niva’ (open) and Sonia Pyangu ‘Saraswati’ (female) have been elected as the secretaries.

Tanchhohang Nembang has been appointed as the treasurer and Lasemi Kerung as the co-treasurer, overseeing the financial aspects of the organization.

The members of the working committee are Nisha Angdembe, Bhumika Chemjong, Niruta Sauden, Sunita Limbu, Julie Limbu, Jaharman Chemjong, Dil Kumar Maden, Kewichandra Nembang, Prakash Sambahamphe, Prabin Tumrok, Balkishore Limbu, Amrita Sawan, Indra Nembang, Santosh Angbuhang and Suman Angdembe.

The team of Election Committee Coordinator Atal Tumbapo, Member Secretary Bheshraj Chemjong, and Member Bhabin Lawati completed the election process and made the results public.

Wishing the newly elected working committee all the best, the election committee has expressed confidence that this team will be successful in taking the dignity of Kirat Yakthung Chumlung Japan to even greater heights.
