With 24 Days Remaining, EC Steps Up Voter Education Drive for HoR Elections

KATHMANDU:- As the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5 draw closer, the Election Commission has intensified its voter education programmes to raise awareness among voters and minimise the number of invalid ballots.

The Commission said it has developed and disseminated voter education materials through digital platforms and other channels. Voter education-related programmes were approved on February 2 as part of preparations for the upcoming polls.

To ensure effective outreach, the EC will mobilize volunteers at the ward level through the offices of the returning officers. According to the Commission, one volunteer will be deployed in each of the country’s 6,743 wards.

The EC also plans to involve child development facilitators, female community health volunteers, and community service centre operators in the voter education campaign.

Additionally, the Commission has signed agreements with state-owned media outlets, including the Rastriya Samachar Samiti, as well as regulatory bodies, to produce and disseminate voter education content widely.
