Nepali migrant worker stranded in Europe rescued

MYAGDI:- A youth of Raghuganga Rural Municipality-6 in Myagdi district, who was stranded on his way to Italy from Serbia, was rescued after three months.

Bhuwan BK from Myagdi was rescued while Bishne Sarki of Beni Municipality-9 in the district is still out of contact. Sarki is missing since November 11, 2025 after a boat capsized while going to Italy from Serbia.

BK, who was injured and stranded after the incident, was rescued in coordination with the Migrant Resource Centre (MRC), Foreign Employment Board, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Embassy of Nepal in Germany.

BK arrived home last week. “I got new life after getting rescued,” he shared adding that the boat carrying 13 people including BK capsized on its way to Italy.

BK also shared that he has serious health issues after the incident.

It is said that the Nepali youths attempted to flee from Serbia after being deprived of their wages from their employers.

Three other youths from Myagdi, who had gone to Serbia for job, by paying Rs 1.1 million have arrived home after not getting jobs and payment for long.
