Telecommunication services rapidly expanding in remote areas

KATHMANDU:- The Nepal Telecom is rapidly expanding its telecommunication services in the remote areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Madhes provinces. The Nepal Telecom stated that access to its network expansion and 4G service has improved in the rural areas of these provinces. 

Recently, the high-speed 4G internet service was started in Budhinanda Municipality, Bajura, after the installation of a new 4G LTE tower.

Local resident Narendra Mahat shared that the people from wards no. 7, 8, 9 and 10 of the municipality would directly benefit from the 4G internet service.

Likewise, the telecommunication services have been ensured in remote settlements of Thulibheri and Shey Phoksundo areas in Dolpa district.

Nabaraj Bhattarai, a technician at the NT Office in Dolpa district, said the 4G services including the internet services are now available in the district. With this, around half a dozen of the villages including Phoksundo trail, Yarsha Patan and other areas were provided the communication services.

In recent weeks, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has given more emphasis to the expansion of network services of Nepal Telecom.

The 4G service and other services were expanded to the Tilicho lake area in Manang, Talkot area in Bajhang and Marma area of Darchula in recent months. (RSS)
