CIAA files corruption case against 14 people including the then DG Mishra

KATHMANDU:- The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed charge-sheet against 14 people including the then Director General of the Department of Health Services, Sangeeta Kaushal Mishra at the Special Court today.

The case was filed against them for their alleged involvement in corruption by submitting fake details and bills while purchasing mammography machine for the Department.

CIAA Spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Poudel said the corruption case was also filed against the then Director of Management Division under the Department, Dr Shrawan Kumar Thapa, Chief of Supply Management Section and senior health administrator, Dr Surendra Prasad Chaurasiya, Director of the Department, Dr Bibek Kumar Lal, the then Chief Account Comptroller at the Department, Bhuwan Prasad Kafle, the then section officer of the Department, Yadav Prasad Sapkota, the then Account Officer of the Department, Shambhu Prasad Dhakal, Department’s Accountant Tilak Ram Dhakal, Biomedical Engineer of the Department, Ashish Chauhan, the then biomedical engineer of the Department, Padma Mishra, Public Health Inspector at the Department’s Central Store, Pathalaiya, Sanjay Kumar Sah, Maxim Incorporation Pvt Ltd and Sundar Bhusal of the company and sought jail sentence along with Rs 146 million each in fine and equal amount of compensation.(RSS)
