We want elections held in time as slated: Chairman Prachanda

KATHMANDU:- CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that his party wants that the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) is held in time as slated.

In his audio-visual message on the occasion of Constitution Day, Chairman Prachanda even alerted that plots were being hatched to fail the interim government formed in the strength of the Gen Z protest.

“There could be plots to prevent elections and push the country to further instability. We want elections being held in time. Days ahead are challenging for the patriot and democratic forces,” said Prachanda, the former Prime Minister.

He said that the demands raised by the Gen Z movement including the ones related to directly election executive, fully proportional election system do indeed match with the agenda the Maoists could not materialise due to power balance in the Constituent Assembly.

Leader Prachanda made it clear that his party would adopt a proper process for transfer of leadership to younger generations. “We have made mistakes in terms of practice, theoretically and in terms of action plan, we had best issues.”

Expressing tribute to the martyrs of Gen Z movement and other protests including the People’s War, Chair Prachanda stated that the People’s War was a form of resistance from the people’s level when the ruling elites denied demands of the working and oppressed people.
