KATHMANDU:- The Supreme Court has decided to conduct collective hearing on writ petitions filed, seeking reinstatement of the House of Representatives (HoR).

The constitutional bench led by Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut including Senior Most Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla, Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal, Manoj Kumar Sharma, and Nahakul Subedi, has decided that the supplementary writ petitions submitted by eight former Nepali Congress parliamentarians would be heard together with others.

As per Supreme Court Spokesperson Arjun Prasad Koirala, a total of 57 former Nepali Congress lawmakers lodged a writ petition calling for HoR reinstatement.

Additionally, a supplementary petition has been filed, seeking it to be incorporated in the earlier petitions submitted by eight former lawmakers. NC chief whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire and whip Sushila Thing from the dissolved parliament lodged the petition.

Written replies have already been received from the President’s Office, Offices of the Prime Minister, of the Speaker, and other parties involved in the 17 previous writs that demanded HoR restoration. (RSS)
