Short of time to complete hearing on NC legitimacy case

KATHMANDU:- The Supreme Court faced a short time to complete the hearing on a writ petition relating to the legitimacy of the Nepali Congress (NC) and its schedule for the 15th general convention.

A division bench of justices Sharanga Subedi and Nripa Dhwoj Niraula said that they could not conclude hearing the case on Thursday, thereby pushing it to the next day bench.

A faction belonging to the then President of NC, Sher Bahadur Deuba, had filed a writ petition against the Election Commission’s decision of legitimising the NC under the leadership of Gagan Kumar Thapa, who was elected party President via the NC general convention. RSS
