Rainfall in various districts including Kathmandu

KATHMANDU:- Rainfall occurred in various districts including Kathmandu on Friday evening. Until the filing of this news, it was raining in various districts of seven provinces, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. 

Department’s information officer Dinkar Kayastha said rain is expected on Friday and Saturday as well. In the last one hour, around 50 millimetre rain was measured.  The highest 27 mm rain was measured in Sankhuwasabha followed by 26 mm in Nuwakot, 17 mm in Lamjung, 6.4 mm in Chitwan, 6.4 mm in Myagdi, 7.8 mm in  Kaski and 7.2 mm in Tanahu.

In the past three hours, Myagdi and Sankhuwasabha recorded the heavy rainfall. Myagdi received 60 mm and Sankhuwasabha 50 mm rainfall in the past three hours.  It is cloudy across the country today.

According to the Department, there is presently an influence of westerly low pressure system and the local winds in the country.  According to a weather bulletin issued by the Department, it will be partially cloudy in the country’s mountain regions, generally cloudy in hilly regions including that of Koshi and Madhesh and partially cloudy in reaming parts of the Terai region this night.

As a result, light rain has been expected in some parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagamati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces, a few places of hilly and high hills of Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces with chances of moderate rain and snowfall with lightning winds, storms and hailstorms at one or two places of Terai region.

On Saturday, generally cloudy weather is likely in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagamti, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces and generally cloudy in the remaining parts of the country. Some parts of the Koshi, Madhesh, Bagamati and a few parts of the mountainous and hills are predicted to witness moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning. (RSS)
