Noted British rapper Clark Samuel admits to hitting Nepali student with his car

LONDON:- Noted British rapper Clark Samuel has admitted that a Nepali youth died after being hit by the car he was driving.

The Metropolitan Police in London has announced that the actor Samuel, also known as Gates, who was involved in the accident, has admitted his involvement in the accident.

Police said on their official website, “41-year-old Samuel was driving at more than 60 miles per hour on a 30-mile-per-hour road and hit Yubin Tamang, who was crossing the road.”

According to police, Samuel fled the scene without stopping after hitting 20-year-old Nepali student Yubin Lamang in Redbridge, Ilford, at 11:30 pm local time on October 18.

Tamang died during treatment two days after the accident. He had come to the UK in September last year and was studying in his second year of a BSc Business Management at the University of Roehampton.

Metropolitan Police Inspector Mark Brathwaite, who was involved in the investigation into the accident, said: “Our thoughts are with Yubin’s family, this loss is irreparable.”

Acting Nepali Ambassador to the UK, Bipin Duwadi, said that the confession of the person involved in the incident is a positive aspect for justice for the victim’s family.

Meanwhile, the court here is expected to sentence Samuel on February 9.
