Nepathya leaves for Japan

KATHMANDU:- The folk-rock band Nepathya is set to perform a series of concerts in Nagoya, Tokyo, and Osaka, Japan. After two years, the band is returning to Japan.

According to a press release issued by Nepalaya, the series of performances will begin in Nagoya.

The band will fill the Nagoya auditorium with their signature Nepali folk-rock tunes on November 13 and this will be Nepathya’s first performance in Nagoya.

The band will perform in the capital city, Tokyo, taking the stage at Japan’s renowned Tokyo Dome City Hall on November 18, read the press release.

The tour will conclude on November 24 with a performance in Osaka.

Nepathya first performed in Japan in 1998. This year’s Japan tour has been organised by the group Bhijonia.

Band leader and lead vocalist Amrit Gurung said “In their three-decade-long musical journey, Nepathya carries many memories with Japan. Along with sweet memories, we also hold a bitter one. Our band had actually split up for the first time in that very country about 25 years ago,” he recalled.

As usual, on stage in Japan, Amrit Gurung will be accompanied by Dhruva Lama on drums, Subin Shakya on bass guitar, Neeraj Gurung on guitar, Shanti Rayamajhi on madal, and Dinesh Raj Regmi on keyboard.
