Nepal Government Orders Closure of Unregulated Bridge Courses and Exam Prep Classes

KATHMANDU:- The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has decided to shut down all exam preparatory classes and bridge course programs that are operating outside the legal framework.

According to a press statement issued by spokesperson Shiva Kumar Sapkota, the move follows a recent decision by Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel to regulate such programs and eliminate those failing to meet established standards.

The Ministry has instructed that all unauthorized institutions running these courses be closed starting from Baisakh 1, 2083 BS. District administration offices across the country have been directed to monitor compliance and ensure that any such programs are operating in accordance with prevailing laws.

Authorities have also been asked to take necessary legal action against institutions found violating regulations.

The Ministry stated that unregulated bridge courses and preparatory classes have been contributing to psychological pressure on students, undermining equitable access to education, and adding unnecessary academic burden.
