Nepal Army extends prohibitory order and curfew

KATHMANDU:- The Nepal Army has extended prohibitory orders and curfew in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts.     

According to the NA Public Relations and Information Directorate, the prohibitory orders will be implemented from 10 am to 5 pm tomorrow while curfew will be applicable from 7:00 pm on Thursday to 6:00 am on Friday.

According to the Directorate, the prohibitory order has been relaxed for essential work from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday. However, essential services such as ambulances, fire engines, health workers, security personnel and media personnel, as well as vehicles transporting food, fuel, milk, vegetables, water and medicines, will be allowed to operate during the prohibitory order.

During this time, employees working in government offices, banks and financial institutions, including public institutions, will be able to travel to their offices by showing their identity cards. Similarly, the NA has clarified that passengers on domestic and international flights will be able to travel to the airport by showing their flight tickets.

The NA has also requested all concerned to coordinate with the security personnel nearby for necessary assistance. In the case of areas outside the Kathmandu Valley, it has been informed that the decisions and coordination will be made by the District Security Committees according to the security situation of the concerned district.

The NA has appealed to all to support the security personnel who are active in fulfilling their responsibilities by remaining committed to the security of the Nepal and Nepali people and humanitarian rescue in any situation.
