NC’s disgruntled leaders want CC dissolved if no convention before mid December

KATHMANDU:- The Nepali Congress leaders, who are dissatisfied with the difference on rise over the conduct of general convention of the party, have demanded dissolution of the central committee (CC) if the convention is not held before coming mid December.

In a pressure campaign launched by the district presidents of NC, the speakers argued all office bearers in the central committee and central members need to quit once the general convention is not possible as per party statute.

Not only party leadership but all central members should own up the failure of changing guards through convention, the leaders reiterated.

Those attending the pressure campaign in the federal capital on Thursday were party chairman in Bhaktapur, Durlav Thapa, chairman in Mahottari, Nagendra Yadav; chairman in Rautahat, Jitendra Yadav; chairman in Baglung, Jit Sherchan; former chair of Kathmandu constituency no 2, Upendra Karki; and present constituency chairman Jay Krishna Maharjan.

They viewed an ad hoc committee could be formed to hold the general convention when the CC is dissolved in failure. Other leaders demanding leadership handover on the occasion were Dipak Bhattarai, Dev Lama, Badri Aryal, Dipak Soni, Gita Gurung and Laos Kumar Rai.

They demanded ending the trend of clinging to power and position for decades in the party.
