NC urges those quitting party to return

KATHMANDU:- The Nepali Congress has called on those who are inactive and those who have quit the party for various reasons to return to the party fold.

The Nepali Congress Central Working Committee meeting chaired by party president Gagan Thapa made this call today. The meeting expressed gratitude to the Election Commission for recognizing the decisions of the Nepali Congress’s decisions and updating the party as per the constitution, prevailing laws and the party statute.

The meeting also called on all the Nepali Congress supporters within the country and abroad to actively participate in the upcoming March 5 elections, stressing on unity, understanding and cooperation.

The central working committee has extended thanks to the party’s immediate past president Sher Bahadur Deuba and other leaders, appreciating their contribution to the party for long remaining at the party’s helm.

It has expressed its confidence that the party will benefit from their guardianship role in future also. Party spokesperson Dev Raj Chalise said the meeting decided not to enter into any unnatural alliance or power-centric agreement with any party in the future.

He stated that the Special General Convention of the party has started a new chapter and unity within the party.
