Heavy rain accompanied by lightning likely across the country today
KATHMANDU:- The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds. The monsoon low-pressure trough is positioned north of its average location in the west and near its average location in the east.
As a result, the weather across the country is generally cloudy. Light to moderate rain is occurring in some places within Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in one or two locations in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Generally cloudy conditions will prevail across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in some places within the country’s mountainous regions. Similarly, light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning is likely in many places across the hilly regions and in some areas of the Terai.
Heavy rainfall is possible in one or two locations within the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Gusty winds are also likely in some areas of the Terai region of Koshi Province and in Madhesh Province.
Generally cloudy conditions will prevail across the country tonight. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in some places within the mountainous and hilly regions.
Moderate rain accompanied by lightning is likely in some areas of the Terai in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in a few places in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces. The Department has stated that heavy rain is possible in one or two places within the hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
