Govt won’t go out of Gen Z spirit: PM Karki

KATHMANDU:- Prime Minister Sushila Karki has assured that the government has been guided in its actions by the spirit of the Gen Z.

In her over four-hour long discussion at her official residence in Baluwatar with those injured during the Gen Z movement of September 8 and 9, the Prime Minister said, “We will not out of Gen Z movement’s spirit. We are working as per the law and move ahead in line with the mandate given to us. Elections will be held and investigation into corruption will also be held as the concerned state body has been probing graft cases.”

During the discussion, representatives of those injured in the Gen Z movement suggested the government taking firm actions against the corrupt and the repressive. They even warned of taking to street if no action was taken against the corrupt. The 18-member delegation of the injured which was led by Rupin Khadka demanded that the government born out of revolution should take revolutionary steps.

“What has barred from arresting immediately those against whom we protested against during the movement, rules, laws or constitution? Let’s start to untie where the problem is,” said Khadka during the discussion, according to information provided by the PM’s secretariat.

On the occasion, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal briefed the meeting about the progress of probe into the corrupt and the repression during the movement.
