Global Eco Poetry Competition Announced

HONG KONG:- The Hong Kong National Coordinating Council of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) in Hong Kong has announced the organization of a global eco-poetry competition with the aim of raising environmental awareness.
The total prize money for the competition has been fixed at 100,000 Nepali rupees. Vijay Hitan, the president of the Nepali Parya Sahitya Pratishthan, who is active in environmental campaigns and vice-president of the World Nepali Literature Federation, has been given the responsibility of the world coordinator for the publicity and formation of the jury of the competition.

According to General Secretary Bhabin Limbu, the date for sending the work and the date for announcing the best poem have been revised and the notice has been republished as per Hitan’s advice.

Authors who wish to participate in the competition must submit an original, environmentally-focused poem written in Nepali. The maximum word limit for the poem is 350 words. The poem can be typed in Nepali Unicode or Preeti font and sent as an MS Word or PDF file.
Entries sent by taking a photo or written in another font will be considered invalid. The entry must include the author’s full name, contact number (including WhatsApp), email address, permanent address, a recent clear photo, and permission for the organization to use the entry.
The poem can be sent only through the official email or WhatsApp number of the competition. An e-book of the best 23 poems from the works received in the competition will be published. The first prize winner will be given a cash prize of Rs 30,000, the second prize winner will be given a cash prize of Rs 20,000, and the third prize winner will be given a cash prize of Rs 10,000. Ten consolation prizes of Rs 2,000 each and certificates will be given to 10 winners.
The deadline for submitting the composition is March 28, 2026. The results of the competition will be made public on the occasion of World Earth Day, April 22, 2026, at 6 pm on the association’s official Facebook page.
