Dilip Kumar Bungatabhula from Andhra Pradesh dies in a vehicle accident in Ohio
NEW YORK:- Kumar Bungatabhula from Andhra Pradesh has died in a vehicle accident in the US state of Ohio. According to the police, the vehicle driven by Dilip Kumar Bungatabhula was struck by a pickup truck coming from the opposite direction.
A resident of Jettivaripalli village in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh, Bungatabhula had gone to the United States for higher education and had completed his Master of Science degree at Kent State University.
According to the police, the accident occurred on Interstate 480 in the Macedonia area of Ohio. While Bungatabhula was traveling in a sedan, a pickup truck coming from the opposite direction crossed the median and collided with his vehicle.
By the time emergency response teams arrived at the scene, Bungatabhula had already died, and three other people had sustained injuries. All three injured individuals were immediately taken to the hospital and are currently undergoing treatment.
Police have stated that an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
Confirming the death of the Indian national, the Consulate General of India in New York stated that it is providing all possible assistance to his family back home.
“We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Indian national Dilip Kumar Bungatabhula, who tragically lost his life in a car accident in Ohio on August 7, 2026,” the Consulate General mentioned in a post on ‘X’.
“Our condolences and sympathies are with his family during this difficult time. The Consulate General is in touch with the family and is providing all possible assistance,” the consulate stated.
According to Bungatabhula’s family, he had completed his studies and had recently started working at a software company in the US. The family is making arrangements to bring his mortal remains to India for the last rites.
