Bipin Joshi’s mortal remains brought to Nepal

KATHMANDU:- The mortal remains of Bipin Joshi has been brought to Kathmandu from Israel this afternoon. Prime Minister Sushila Karki paid tributes to late Joshi at a condolence ceremony organized at Tribhuvan International Airport.

She extended her sympathies to the grieving family.

At the condolence gathering, various dignitaries including Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Kulman Ghising, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Ajay Bhadra Khanal, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, Secretary of Communications and Information Technology Radhika Aryal, and Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Shmulik Arie, among others, paid their respects to the late Joshi and conveyed their condolences to his family.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that arrangements have been made to transport Joshi’s body by aircraft to Dhangadhi today, from where it will be taken to his residence in Kanchanpur. The deceased Joshi’s body was brought to Nepal through the coordination of the Nepali Embassy in Israel and with the assistance of the Israeli government. Nepali student Joshi had been taken hostage in Gaza following a Hamas attack in southern Israel on October 7, 2023, which resulted in the immediate deaths of 10 innocent Nepali students.

The Nepal government undertook extensive efforts and initiatives at multiple levels to secure the safe release of Joshi, who had been held captive. However, the Israeli government officially notified about Joshi’s death on October 14, 2025. (RSS)
