Amendment to the statute of RSP to increase the central committee to 151 members

KATHMANDU:- The secretariat meeting of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to amend the party’s statute and increase the size of the central committee to 151 members.

Making public the decision of the party secretariat meeting today, General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti informed that a proposal has been prepared to increase the size of the central committee to 151 members and to provide for the chairmen of the provincial committees to be ex-officio members.

The secretariat meeting has instructed the members to exercise restraint and conduct activities within the party’s election code of conduct and discipline as excessive publicity was found to have taken place before the general convention.

General Secretary Burlakoti said that the convention of all seven provinces was reviewed in the same meeting.

Informing that the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is preparing to hold elections using electronic voting machines (EVMs) in the general convention, General Secretary Burlakoti said that it is estimated that around 40 million rupees will be spent for the general convention.

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) as stated that around 3,000 delegates will participate in the general convention to be held in Chitwan from Ashad 27 to 29, (July 11 to 13, 2026).
