ACC Premier Cup: Nepali U-19 team selected for Asia Cup

KATHMANDU:- The Nepali U-19 team has been selected for the Asia Cup. Nepal secured a berth in the Asia Cup, defeating Malaysia by nine wickets in today’s semifinal match held at Ajman Stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Nepal chased down the target of 52 runs set by Malaysia in 7.5 overs for the loss of one wicket.

Nepal’s Bansha Kshetri scored an unbeaten 23 and Nischal Kshetri made an unbeaten 15 runs. Malaysia’s Mohammad Akram took one wicket.

Malaysia, who batted first after losing the toss, were all out for 51 runs in 17.2 overs. Hamjah Pangi scored 13 and Muhammad Fathul Muin added 11, but the other batsmen could not score in double figures.

For Nepal, Nitish Kumar Patel took four wickets, Chandan Ram three, and captain Ashok Dhami, Roshan Bishwakarma, and Aparajit Paudel one wicket each.

A total of 14 teams are participating in this tournament. The top three teams from this competition will be selected for the upcoming ACC U-19 Asia Cup to take place in the UAE this December. RSS
