Weather forecast for next 24 hours: Country is expected to be cloudy, possibility of heavy rainfall in certain provinces

KATHMANDU:-  At present, moist winds from the Bay of Bengal (monsoon winds) are affecting the entire nation.

The Department of Meteorology has predicted generally overcast conditions throughout the country this afternoon.

Moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is likely in many areas of the hilly and Terai regions of the Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in some parts of the hilly and Terai regions of the other provinces.

The department has indicated that heavy rainfall may occur in select areas of the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two locations in the Terai region of Lumbini Province.

Additionally, there is a potential for very heavy rainfall in one or two spots in the hilly and Terai regions of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Furthermore, the department has reported that tonight, most areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will remain predominantly cloudy, while the other provinces will generally experience partly cloudy skies.

In many hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in several hilly and Terai areas of Lumbini Province, there is a likelihood of moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning.

The department has noted that in certain hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with one or two locations in the Terai areas of Madhesh and Lumbini provinces, there is a chance of heavy to very heavy rainfall.
