8 more houses and 70 goats swept away in Bajura Flood

BAJURA:- The flood that occurred following the incessant rainfall from Wednesday night had swept away eight more houses and 70 goats at Bichchhya of Himali rural municipality-1.

It was confirmed in the course of collecting details of the losses caused by the flood, shared Information Officer at the District Police Office, Bajura, Police Inspector Dev Bahadur Chaudhary. The houses of Bhim Raj Bohara, Bir Singh Bohara, Dhanrup Bohara, Prabal Bohara, Chandra Lal, Mani Budha, and Rabi Lal Budha were washed away.

Similarly, the flood also swept away an under-construction suspension bridge connecting Goldemanu to Tin, he added. Seven houses suffered complete damage in the flood, while 17 houses are at high risk. Flood survivors have been shifted to safer places, shared Chairperson of Himali rural municipality, Govinda Bahadur Malla.

Chief District Officer Megh Nath Padhya mentioned that flood-hit people have been urged to stay safe as there is still a risk of flood as rainfall continues. Activities for relief distribution and their rehabilitation are on.
