Major flood with mudslides in Budhi Gandaki River

KATHMANDU:-The Flood Forecasting Division has urged caution in areas along the Budhigandaki River—extending down to the Trishuli confluence—due to a massive, sediment-laden flood surging down the river since Sunday morning.

In a notice issued at 6:40 AM on Sunday, the Division reported that a major flood was flowing down the Budhigandaki River from Chumanubri Rural Municipality-6 in Gorkha.

The Division has urged people to stay away from the riverbanks—extending up to the Trishuli confluence—and to remain in safe, elevated locations until the floodwaters have receded.

Residents living near the river and travelers have also been advised to exercise caution to avoid potential risks.
