Nepali Congress 15th General Convention: Final list of voters published

KATHMANDU:-  The final list of General Convention representatives eligible to participate in the election for the Nepali Congress’s 15th General Convention has been published. Raju Katuwal, Member Secretary of the Congress’s 15th General Convention Central Election Committee, announced the publication of the final voter list. With the release of this new list, the total number of representatives participating in the election for the 15th General Convention has reached 7,114.

Member-Secretary Katuwal stated that following the publication of the final voter list, the schedule for today includes the filing of claims and objections regarding the voter list at 9:30 AM, the review of these claims and objections from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, and the publication of the final voter list at 11:30 AM.

The Election Committee has announced that the distribution of candidate nomination forms and the registration of nomination papers will take place between 12:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Meanwhile, the Congress party’s closed-session meeting on Monday amended the party’s statute. The amended statute provides for a new 297-member working committee, and the party has stated that the upcoming election will be held in accordance with this new arrangement.

More than 200 volunteers have been mobilized for the Nepali Congress’s 15th National General Convention. These volunteers were deployed for the closed-session proceedings of the convention, which began yesterday.

Ganesh Lama, a Congress Central Committee member and coordinator of the Volunteer Management Committee, informed RSS that the volunteers were mobilized to assist the delegates attending the convention.

Coordinator Lama stated that volunteers have been deployed at the venues for the closed session and the election. A total of 7,500 delegates from within the country and abroad have arrived in Kathmandu for the Nepali Congress’s 15th General Convention.

The schedule for the convention, which began on Sunday, includes closed sessions today and tomorrow, followed by elections on Ashwin 21 and 22. During the closed session, the party President, Vice-President, General Secretary, and Treasurer presented their respective reports.
