45 Rasuwa students still unaccounted for after Bhotekoshi floods

RASUWA:- Forty-five students from four schools in Rasuwa remain unaccounted for following the devastating floods that struck the district on August 26.

According to Durga Prasad Silwal, chief of the Education and Coordination Unit in Dhunche, the floods completely destroyed four school buildings—Nepal Rastriya Basic School in Timure, Malikadevi Basic School in Pairebesi, Chipleti Basic School and Modern Trinity English Boarding School.

Of the missing students, 25 are from Nepal Rastriya Basic School, 11 from Malikadevi Basic School, eight from Modern Trinity English Boarding School and one from Chipleti Basic School.

The floods also forced schools in Gosaikunda, Aamachhodingmo, Uttargaya and Kalika areas to close completely.

However, classes have now resumed after alternative arrangements were made for students of the affected schools, Silwal said.
