Chance of rain and snowfall in hilly and mountainous areas
KATHMANDU:- The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the country is currently experiencing the combined influence of monsoon winds and westerly winds. Westerly winds are affecting Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as the western parts of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
Meanwhile, there is a partial influence of westerly winds alongside monsoon winds across all areas of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, as well as the remaining parts of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
The Department has reported that the weather is currently partly to generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly regions of the country. While there is partial cloudiness in the Terai areas of Lumbini Province, the weather remains mainly clear in the remaining Terai regions. Light rain is occurring in a few places in Koshi Province and at one or two locations in Bagmati and Lumbini provinces.
On Monday, the weather is expected to change across various parts of the country, bringing the possibility of rain and snowfall. Generally cloudy conditions are anticipated in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Meanwhile, the mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim and the Terai areas of the country are expected to experience partly cloudy skies.
There is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall in a few places across the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces during the day and night. Light rain or snowfall may occur in one or two places in the mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while moderate rain is forecast for a few locations in the hilly regions of these provinces.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that there is a possibility of moderate rainfall in one or two places across Madhesh Province, as well as in the Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
